JDC Central Business Case Competition

Strategy Team | 2015

  • Participated in the JDC Central Business Case Competition, using business concepts learned in courses, problem solving skills, and time management skills to identify, analyze, and solve real-world business problems

  • Presented full business plan to a panel of judges within three hours of the beginning of the challenge

 

Global Enterprise Challenge

2010 – 2011

  • Created a mock consumer product based off a NASA innovation, researched the product’s potential marketing mix and target market, and created an elevator pitch video to communicate the product to the audience

  • Conceptualized and designed an interactive, human spaceflight exhibit, researched all costs of the exhibit project, displayed costs and marketing mix in a PowerPoint presentation, created an informative video and website about the exhibit, and built a 3D model of the exhibit

 

OBEA International Business Competition

2011

  • Conducted thorough research on a Canadian product and foreign country in order to create an international marketing plan. Awarded 2nd place in competition

  • Researched a product’s marketing mix and a country’s facts and statistics to conduct option analysis as to whether the product would be suitable to enter the new market

 

OBEA Web Page Development Competition

2010

  • Designed and published website using Adobe Dreamweaver. Awarded 1st place in competition

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the uses and design of effective websites and showed high degree of planning and creative skills by independently developing a mock company website

 

OBEA Desktop Publishing Competition

2010

  • Planned and designed Promotional Materials using Microsoft Publisher. Awarded 3rd place in completion

  • Showed high degree of understanding of effective Desktop Publishing techniques and planning of webpage by creating a package of promotional material, such as newsletters and brochures, used by a mock company

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Grads Building Pads (For Habitat for Humanity)

Director of Marketing | 2015 

  • Responsible for the development of marketing collateral, including sponsorship packages and promotional advertisements

  • Managed social media accounts to promote cause and charity events
  • Assisted in the planning and execution of charity events

Sprott Off-Campus Student Club

Vice President of Marketing | 2014 

  • Supported all aspects of advertising and promoting of the Club and its events, including designing, purchasing, and implementing club logo, posters, banners and promotional material

  • Managed all social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, and Club e-mail to spread awareness of event details and Club hiring process

  • Measured membership metrics and progression of Club goal attainment

 

Student Activity Group for the Environment (SAGE)

Co-President | 2009 – 2011

  • Promoted importance of environment by managing and co-ordinating fundraisers to support environmental causes

  • Assisted in the school’s recycling and composting system and promoted the use of the strategically placed recycle and compost bins
